Silas...age 6...outgoing, had quite a following among other boys around his age before we left...Tod, Scott, Colin...slight pyromania...loves fire works, the pool, ocean, riding his bike, and, perhaps especially, the opportunity to snuggle up and watch movies...expanded sound effect vocab, and "everybody was kung-fu fighting" may be his new favorite song after watching Kung Fu Panda...over and over...also, all 4 Shrek movies...repeatedly...did I mention how hilariously funny bodily functions are??? Really wanted to master the boogie board...but not enough to work at it much. Fun kid at the beach :)
Norine...age 8 (just shy of 9)...mastered the boogie board! Always willing to help with just about anything...lots of craft projects and cootie catchers this trip...perfecting nail painting. Also enjoys curling up with movies...at times seems like a miniature grown up...at other times, like an overgrown toddler...as it should be...enjoyed jumping rope, reading, boogie boarding, planning, bossing her brother...expanding vocabulary like crazy...awesome kid this week!
Abigail...14 months...this look says it all...second time at the beach...first time with an opinion...loved the ocean, loved the sand, loved the pool, loved the bike, always up for an adventure...knows what she wants and what she doesn't want...it's up to you to figure it out...high fives...points...pitches the occasional fit...luckily tans nicely, like her brother and sister...also luckily, is not opposed to wearing a sun hat. Stuck on Daddy...on the bike, eating goldfish, reading...Miss Spider's ABC...over and over...and over, floating in the ocean...outgrew her pack and play...lots of fun at the beach!
The full crew...Aunt Alli is definitely key to a great beach trip! Unbelievable ride down, perfect weather, even a day without seaweed washing up...Oh...and an 11 year old educated us on the brown seaweed...if you shake it, crabs and shrimp come out...who knew?...condo looks great! family pictures everywhere, blues and greens added, great distressed wood above the sofa. Captain Zac's Greek seasoned steamed shrimp is back!..Aunt Alli's crab dip and wheat thins, The Back Porch, Ice Cream, Blue Moons, Coronas...cooking meets MacGyver (if given a semi-sharp knife, a melon baller, a plastic thing for buttering corn, four ice cream scoops, two cork screws and almost all the ingredients...can you create a meal?) All in all, I think most of us would do it again ;D
Oh gosh, Abigail! That picture is awesome.
