A little improvisation and you know it's yummy when Si asks, "can we have these every night?"
Stir together: 2 cups APF, 2 tsp baking powder, ground black pepper to taste, 1/4 tsp salt...
Cut (or snap) in 1 stick butter...the real deal...
In another bowl, stir together: 1 egg - slightly beaten, 1/2 cup milk, 2 cloves garlic - pressed, shredded sharp cheddar cheese (about 6 ounces???)
Mix the two together, just until moistened ball of dough forms. Turn out onto lightly floured surface, fold and press approx 4 times, then shape into rounds...cut into triangles...place on cookie sheet...bake 400F for 20 minutes-ish...and voila! Oh yeah, I did brush the tops with milk and sprinkle with fresh ground sea salt (before baking) :)
