Making Friends

We recently spent two weeks in North Carolina for some training.  I think the best part of the entire experience was watching how the kids adjusted and thrived.  Within 30 minutes of arriving, everyone had a buddy (or 2 or 3) that they palled around with the entire time...we were all amazed...most of all, Norine, who I think had just decided that it was difficult to make friends.  Needless to say, she doesn't think that anymore!

Silas (in tie dye) with his class...the highlight was ordering in
Spanish at a Mexican Restaurant!  They weren't told what they
were ordering...Silas had to say "Quierro una jarra de horchata
por favor" and got a pitcher of a yummy drink called "horchata"
for the group to try.

Norine with her class (there was one more girl who had to leave
earlier)...they learned some Russian with the help of a language helper!
She also learned how to finger crochet from one of the girls...
definitely a highlight!

Biggi and Lucy with Miss Mary and Miss Stacy...they had an
awesome time with their friends (2 other 2 year old girls, a 15 month
old boy, and a 2 month old girl).  These ladies are amazing!
