Camping!
I think the main thing that I like about working primarily weekends, is that you get to do fun things during the middle of the week -- this week we went camping! And guess what...since we went on a Tuesday afternoon/evening and spent Wednesday in the woods, we practically had the whole place to ourselves. And the mountain laurel was blooming. This is the second time we've picked this camp site...right on the Chatooga River trail on Sandy Ford Road. Norine and Silas like it because they can play in the creek and even hike a fair bit of the trail without grown-up interference (since we can see them from the camp site :)). This was maiden voyage for the new tent I got for my birthday...let's just say a 6 person tent fits our needs loads better than a 3 person tent. Abigail even had her pack 'n play...which meant that she slept all night...and the others of us got to spread out to our hearts' content. Clementine even got to go. It was also the maiden voyage for taking the Sequoia camping...again proving it to be the perfect vehicle for our family...hauled all of us and our gear with room to spare...we didn't even need the receiver hitch basket or the roof rack bag...Oh..what can we bring next time?? Gorp, smores, hot dogs...reading Narnia by the fire...what else do you need?
